Each fanfic should read like a lost episode — true to
the characters, tone, and spirit of the original.
Whether canon or AU, we’re looking for writing
that captures the heart of the series, honors its ethos,
and feels like a seamless part of the world
we know and love.

Here are the rules for all story submissions:
- All stories must be:
– Joe-Centric.
– Over 1000 words.
– In English.
– Complete.
– Original.
– Plausible, logical, and fitting the tone and spirit of Bonanza.
– Ready for publication—grammatically correct and well written. [Stories needing extensive correction will be removed for author editing.] - Stories should be rated either:
G, PG, R, or X/SLASH: Same‑Sex Relationship
Refer to our Story Ratings & Age Guidelines for further details. - If your story is a sequel, prequel, or AU this should also be included in the story summary.
[AU: Alternative Universe: A story that diverges significantly from the established canon of Bonanza. For example – a one-time resurrection of a dead character or a Bonanza tale set in modern times.] - NO PLAGIARISM – if we discover something is plagiarized, we will remove the story and all other stories by the same writer and revoke their author status.
- Only one story can be published per week, per author.
- The first story must be submitted to the Administrators for approval before publication.
The above rules are subject to change without prior notification. If anything is unclear or you are not sure your story meets our rules, please get in touch.
Instructions on ‘How to Post a Story’ will be emailed when Author status is confirmed.
